Epistaxis –

  1. Stay calm
  2. Have the child sit (not lying down).
  3. Apply continuous pressure for ten minutes to the nose with thumb and forefinger.
  4. Insert cotton into each nostril – use ice to the bridge of nose if bleeding persists.
